Seminar
in Image Processing and Computer Vision
Thursdays 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. - 1 credit - Professor Gabor T. Herman
This is one in a series
of seminars, run in alternate semesters by Robert Haralick and Gabor Herman.
The emphasis changes each semester, covering such diverse topics as the
reconstruction of objects and surfaces from projections, data representation
for image processing, computerized visualization, graphical models,
applications of image processing and computing (e.g., to diagnostic medicine,
radiation therapy treatment planning, electron microscopy of biological
molecules, nondestructive testing, materials science, audio signal manipulation,
and data mining), discrete images, and discrete tomography.* Students are required to
give a presentation on a topic in any area of image processing or computer
